Between 05-07 November 2019  the 5th Littoral OpTech workshop will take place in NMIOTC premises.

This Workshop is being organized by the Littoral Operations Center and the Center for Network Innovation and Experimentation at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and  supported by NMIOTC.

It will gather international defence leaders, scientists, researchers, analysts, and think tank experts in order to explore the unique operational and technological challenges to security and defence in the Eastern Mediterranean littorals.

The HMoD is organizing a 3 – day Mobile Training Team on Environmental Protection (EP MTT), with the title “EP Principles and Guidelines in NATO-Led Operations & Exercises”. This MTT is organized under the auspices of Military Engineering Centre of Excellence (MILENG CoE) and NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). It is hosted at NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC), located at Marathi-Souda Bay, Chania, Crete, Greece. The course will take place from 12th to 14th November, 2019.

  • The aim of the course is to provide comprehensive knowledge for facilitating understanding of the environmental protection procedures during NATO-led operations and exercises.
  • The lecturers at the course are experienced custodians and standardization trainers, engineers with background expertise on EP affairs and also NATO officials who have dealt with EP issues in deployments.
  • This course aims to serve as an introductory platform for the students who intend to attend either one of the 2 level EP training and education schemes in NATO:, at strategic level  and at tactical level.
  • It is offered to all Allied and Partners MoD’s personnel (civilian and military) who wish to strengthen and enhance their skills and knowledge on EP issues, with regards to NATO – led operations and exercises.
