NMIOTC PRIVACY POLICY

 

GENERAL

The NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) applies all necessary actions for the protection of personal data, as provided by the respective regulations as well as by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679.

The following statement describes our Privacy Policy concerning personal data of individuals interacting with the Centre, either through the website, their physical presence in our premises or otherwise.

 

DEFINITIONS

In this privacy policy, the following definitions are used:

NMIOTC : The NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) is a multinational NATO Educational and Training Facility focused in Maritime Interdiction

GDPR : General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 

Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable person (“data subject”). Providing your name, address and contact details, to the NMIOTC via this website or other means (i.e. email, phone or fax), is enough to identify you.

User: Anyone who provides his/her personal data for the purpose to browse the NMIOTC Website, or to register for the participation to an Event.

Website: The website that you are currently using  www.nmiotc.nato.int, and any sub-domains of this.

Event: Resident or Hosted Course, Workshop, Conference and Seminar that NMIOTC organizes according to its institutional and official purposes.

 

Personal data collection and use

Personal Data are collected exclusively for the purpose of attending and gaining access to the event in accordance with the specific needs. The Personal Data requested to the users participating in the NMIOTC activities are always tailored to the event specific needs. In any case, the data requested represents the minimum sets of information necessary for the purpose of the event; no unnecessary information will be requested. Personal Data will be used and processed exclusively by the NMIOTC personnel solely for aforementioned official purposes.

NMIOTC does and will not share or disclose any personal information. In case of an event organized in conjunction with other organizations, individual’s Personal Data may be accessed and managed, solely for the purpose of the event, jointly by authorized personnel of both organizations.

 

Protection and retainment of PERSONAL data

NMIOTC applies specific steps (as required by applicable Data Protection Laws) to ensure appropriate security measures for the protection of Personal Data from any unlawful or unauthorized processing and accidental loss, destruction or damage, are always in place. The provided data will be retained exclusively for statistical and educational/ training verification reasons, unless a respective erasure request is provided by any user.

 

User rights

  • Right to access – the right to access any time the information we hold.
  • Right to rectification – the right to have your Personal Data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete and to receive proof of that.
  • Right to erasure – the right to have your Personal Data deleted from our systems upon a specific request.
  • Right to restriction of processing – the right to prevent us from using your Personal Data or limit the way in which we can use them in certain cases.
