Description: Trainees will learn about the routine operations and watch procedures on board merchant vessels.

Specific Objectives: Students shall describe how a merchant vessel operates by:

1. Outlining the roles of the main actors involved in the shipping industry.
2. Explaining the civilian crew members’ roles and responsibilities.
3. Explaining the watch procedures on board a merchant vessel.
4. Describe the routine on board a merchant vessel in port/at sea.

The duration of the module is 1 training hour.
