From 8 to 26 June 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre conducted a three-week Tailored Training in Maritime Interdiction to 15 trainees members of the Mauritanian (MRT) Navy, in support of NATO’s DCB for MRT. This NATO‑tailored training followed a modular structure specifically designed to strengthen participants’ operational and tactical knowledge and competencies. It included theoretical instruction and practical training in Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS), Tactical Sweep, MEDEVAC, Breaching, Boarding Under Multiple Threats (BUMPT), RHIB insertion, and other mission‑critical topics, in the field of MIO. The training was delivered by the Centre’s instructors.

On 4 June 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) had the privilege of welcoming the American Hellenic Institute Foundation (AHIF) students, during their annual Foreign Policy trip to Greece, led by AHIF President Mr. Nick Larigakis. The delegation received comprehensive briefings on the Centre’s mission and role as the sole NATO Educational and Training Facility in the maritime domain.

From 15 to 16 June 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre hosted the 11th WMD/CBRN Defence Annual Discipline Conference. The JCBRN Defence COE, as the Department Head for the WMD/CBRN Defence Discipline, with the full support of the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) POC, Requirements Authority, and the Education & Training Facilities, successfully build up on the work of the WMD/CBRN Defence Training Requirement Analysis workshop to validate 2026 Discipline Alignment Plan and to agree on priorities and responsibilities for the upcoming cycle.

From 7 to 11 June 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) hosted the STEADFAST WOLF 2027 Main Planning Conference organized by Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in close coordination with United States European Command (USEUCOM). 27 officers from 15 NATO and National HQs participated in the conference to consolidate exercise framework, confirm training audiences, refine objectives and develop he scenario architecture. From 8 to 19 June 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre conducted the 2026 iteration of its resident Course 21000 “Medical Combat Care in Maritime Operations”, hosting twenty four (24) participants representing Belgium, France, India, Lithuania, Malta, Sweden and USA. This NATO accredited course is designed to develop and enhance participants’ competencies in delivering pre-hospital emergency medical care, from the point of injury in the mission or theatre with the final transfer to the nearest Medical Treatment Facility. The course was delivered by the Centre’s Instructors, with valuable contributions from certified NAEMT (National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians)

From 22 to 26 June 2026, NMIOTC conducted the Pilot Course 34000 “Irregular Migration in Maritime Interdiction Operations”, hosting 24 trainees, representing 5 NATO countries (Greece, Italy, Germany, Denmark and Romania). This pilot course is designed to equip both military and civilian personnel with the essential legal, operational and tactical framework required to safely manage Irregular Migration during maritime operations. The curriculum covers International Maritime Law, Fundamental Rights and the dynamics of Smuggling & Trafficking, alongside extensive hands-on practical training in boarding operations, evidence collection and the recovery of persons at sea. The course was delivered by the Centre’s instructors,
