From 11 to 15 May 2026, based on a request from the Romanian Navy ship F222 REGINA MARIA, NMIOTC delivered Tailored Training to 19 members of the ship’s Command & Boarding Team, aiming at enhancing VBSS capacity in Maritime Interdiction Operations as well as Close Quarter Combat skills. On the occasion of the training, NMIOTC Commandant had an office call with the C.O. of REGINA MARIA, Captain Mitel-Laurențiu Alexandru.

On 12 and 13 May 2026, the ΝΜΙΟΤC Coordinating Board (NCB) was convened at the Centre, chaired by a Hellenic Navy General Staff representative and co-chaired by a representative from HQ SACT. A designated representative from ACO (remote participation), as well as the NMIOTC Deputy Commandant and the NMIOTC Chief of Staff also participated as members of the Board. From 20 to 24 April 2026, nmiotc DELIVERED the Resident Course 31000 “Harbour Protection and its relation to MIO”, with support from the NATO Centre of Excellence for Operations in Confined and Shallow Waters (CoE CSW) and the Bundeswehr’s Technical Center for Ships and Naval Weapons, Maritime Technology and Research (WTD-71). In total, twenty three (23) trainees from eight (8) NATO Nations (Belgium, Finland, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Norway, Poland and Portugal) were trained in the application of NATO Practices & Procedures regarding the operational and tactical dimensions of planning and conducting Harbour Protection Operations (HPO).

From 23 to 26 March 2026, NMIOTC participated in the annual Military Strategic Partnership Conference for 2026 (MSPC 26), as a NATO Education and Training Facility (NETF) and continuum member of Military Strategic Partnership (MSP).The conference was organized and conducted by NATO SHAPE Partnership Directorate (SHAPE PD) and held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH). MSPC is a hub for exchanging information between NATO and Partners on new developments in Cooperative Security and discussing Partnership programs for future years. From 28 to 29 March 2026, NMIOTC delivered a Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) tailored training with a Mobile Education and Training Team (METT) to the participants of Exercise SEA SHIELD 26, in Constanța, Romania. In total, thirty five (35) participants from Bulgaria, Italy and Romania attended the training.
