Ambassador Matthew Whitaker Visits NMIOTC

Course 14000 “Maritime IED Disposal (M-IEDD)”

From 9 to 13 March 2026, NMIOTC delivered its Resident Course 14000 “Maritime IED Disposal (M-IEDD)”. The aim of this course is to educate and train EOD personnel to competently undertake IEDD Operations on-board vessels and other Maritime Infrastructure in support of C-IED and related operations. The training covered the basic concepts, philosophy, principles, equipment, ship insertion and Maritime focused IEDD methodologies and best practices. NMIOTC Course 6000 “WMD in MIO”

From 9 to 13 of March 2026, NMIOTC delivered its resident course Course 6000, Weapons of Mass Destruction in Maritime Interdiction Operations (WMD in MIO). Seven (7) trainees from six (6) countries (Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Colombia, Georgia and USA) attended the course. In addition to the Centre’s Instructors and assets, instructors from the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the Joint CBRN Defence CoE provided invaluable support to the course with their expertise and equipment.

Course 12000 “C-IED in Maritime Interdiction Operations”

From 2 to 6 of March 2026, the NMIOTC delivered its resident course 12000, C-IED in Maritime Interdiction Operations. The aim of this NATO Approved Course is to train Boarding Team personnel in NATO Tactics, Technics and Procedures (TTPs) in order to able to undertake expedient weapons intelligence tasks on board merchant vessels and other maritime infrastructure, in support of C-IED operations.
