Training Platform LYKOUDIS

TP Lykoudis, the decommissioned 64-meters long HS Lykoudis (A-481), is currently used as a secondary Training Platform.
In November, 2024, NMIOTC activated the secondary training platform, “LYKOUDIS”, with the invaluable support of the Hellenic Navy General Staff and the Souda Naval Base. Along with two (2) new classrooms (isoboxes) in the adjacent training area, with a capacity of 18 persons each, the new platform enhances the Centre’s capabilities to deliver cutting-edge training for maritime interdiction, in support of global security efforts.

TP LYKOUDIS is designed to replicate realistic maritime scenarios, allowing NMIOTC to conduct a wide range of exercises from counter-piracy and counter-terrorism to the interception of illicit trafficking. This Platform, equipped with the Enhanced Training System (ETS) to monitor and record training, offers a unique, adaptable environment for NATO personnel and partners to hone essential skills under realistic, mission-focused conditions.
