NMIOTC’s “CHRISTMAS TREE” CELEBRATION

On Thursday 20th of December 2018, NMIOTC organized the Christmas Tree Celebration event with the participation of the families and children of the Centre’s military and civilian personnel. The event included a Christmas show and all children had the opportunity to talk and receive presents from Santa Claus himself.

END OF YEAR REVIVAL & CLEANING OF NMIOTC TRAINING PLATFORMS

On Wednesday 19th of December 2018, all NMIOTC personnel participated in the revival and cleaning of the Centre’s training platforms ARIS and ALKYON, in order to prepare them for the New Year’s training activities, followed by BBQ happy hour. CERTIFICATION OF NMIOTC AS “NAEMT AUTHORIZED TRAINING CENTER”

Since December 2018, NMIOTC is recognized as a US National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Authorized Training Center and is eligible to provide Tactical Combat Casualty Care Courses under its auspices. NMIOTC is the 1st NATO Education and Training Facility (NETF) to receive this certification for integrating efficiently and effectively NAEMT standards and policy to NATO respective environment, while enhancing the Alliance’s and partners standardization and interoperability in terms of offering tactical combat care in the maritime domain. NAEMT is a popular international organization which started in 1991 with the establishment of the first NAEMT training center in Mexico

Visit of the Deputy Minister of Defence of Greece

On December 5th, 2018, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Greece, Ms Maria Kollia – Tsaroucha, escorted by the Chief of Hellenic Navy, Vice Admiral Nikolaos Tsounis GRC(N) visited the Centre. During the visit the Deputy Minister was informed about the mission, roles and training capabilities of the Centre.

MULTILATERAL EXERCISE « MEDUSA 7 – ALEXANDROUPOLIS 2018»

From 24th to 26th of November 2018 in the context of the multinational exercise «MEDUSA 7 – ALEXANDROUPOLIS 2018», NMIOTC provided a tailored practical training package to 76 members of SOF teams from the participating Nations (Egypt, Greece, etc) focusing at improving their skills and performance in support of Maritime Security Operations and MIO in particular.
