From 12th to 15th of September 2023, the 17th Allied Cryptographic Task Force (ACTF) Meeting, led by Alliance Strategic Commands, took place at the NMIOTC premises. It was attended by 66 participants from 21 Allied Nations.
From 11 to 15 September 2023, NMIOTC conducted the resident Course 1000 “Command Team MIO Issues”. The aim of the course is to assist Staff Officers and Naval Units’ Command Teams in the efficient application of NATO common standards in the planning and execution of Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO).
From 31 Aug until 01 Sep 2023 NMIOTC participated in the 2nd Maritime Security Conference that took place in the Kofi Anan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC) in Accra, Ghana. The theme of the Conference was: “MARITIME SECURITY IN THE GULF OF GUINEA: FOSTERING A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO A COMPLEX PROBLEM”.
From 28 to 31 August 2023 two officers from NMIOTC participated as Subject Matter Experts to the Maritime Security workshop in Nouakchott, capital of Mauritania. The event, framed in the NATO Defence Capacity Building Initiative for Mauritania, was aimed to support the partner country in the fields of Maritime Interdiction Operations, Search and Rescue and Maritime Surveillance. Relevant Mauritanian stakeholders, together with NATO and Allied Nations representatives actively contributed to the success of the event, highlighting the possible fields in which the Alliance can provide support in the near future.
From 17th to 21st of July 2023, the Pilot Course “29000”, Detection and Identification of WMD (CBRN Materials) in Maritime Interdiction, was successfully conducted at the NMIOTC premises.
From 10th to 14th of July 2023, the Resident Course “28000”, Radiological Search in Maritime Environment, was conducted at the NMIOTC premises.
