On Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, NMIOTC’s Annual Information Meeting (AIM) and Advisory Board (NAB), chaired by NMIOTC Commandant, was held at the Centre’s premises.
On Monday, February 3rd, 2025, the Commanding Officer of ITS ‘Giovanni delle Bande Nere’, Commander Claudia de Cesare ITA (N) paid a visit to NMIOTC Commandant, in the framework of a tailored training package delivered to members of the warship’s crew at the Centre’s premises.
From 9th to 13th of December 2024, NMIOTC hosted “AEOLUS 2024”, a CBRN crisis management exercise aiming to fill the gap between field and warning & reporting exercises, as well as prepare CBRN C2 liaison officers, CBRN first response managers and CBRN JAT members to practice crisis situation management, involving both military and civilian aspects.
On Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF), Vice Admiral Mohammed Abdulrahman Alghuraybi, accompanied by the Chief of Staff at the Hellenic Fleet, Commodore Ioannis Retsas GRC-N, the Defence Attaché of SAU to GRC, Colonel Rashed Alaboudi SAU-AF, and an 8-members delegation, visited NMIOTC.
In the context of the NATO Defence Capacity Building (DCB) program for Mauritania, Maritime Security Initiative, NMIOTC delivered, from 9th to 13th of December, 2024, a 2nd Tailored Training package to twenty-five (25) Officers, Petty Officers, Corporals, and Enlisted personnel of Mauritanian Navy, Coastguard and Gendarmerie by deploying for the second year in a row, a Mobile Education and Training Team (METT) at the “Fusiliers Marins” Naval Base in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
From 8th to 12th of December 2024, a 5-member Mobile Training Team from NMIOTC delivered a Combined Modular Training in Maritime Interdiction Operations, Border Security and Refugee Control at the NATO-ICI Regional Centre in Kuwait (NIRC). It has been the fourth time NMIOTC trainers participate in educational activities at the NIRC premises, and the first time a weekly seminar is organized by NMIOTC.
