The NATO Medical Lessons Learned Sharing Conference 2025 was held at NMIOTC from 06 to 08 October 2025 in a hybrid format, enabling both in-person and virtual participation. In total forty seven (47) participants representing NATO commands, organizations, agencies, Allied and Partner Nations met in NMIOTC to share the most critical medical lessons identified from operations, training, and exercises during the last year. Furthermore, the conference aimed to share knowledge, experiences, and to identify entities interested in leading innovation, research, and concept development efforts to address lessons identified by the participants.

From 29th of September until 10th of October 2025, a German Navy Boarding Team conducted a tailored training that included theoretical and practical aspects in order to improve trainees’ skills and performance in NATO Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) in Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO) as well as in Close Quarter Combat (CQC). Thirteen (13) members of the German Navy participated in the training.                 

Based on a request from the Spanish Navy Frigate ESPS VICTORIA, on October 3rd, 2025, NMIOTC delivered one-day Tailored Training to a 18-member Boarding Team, aiming at improving VBSS capacity in Maritime Interdiction Operations as well as Close Quarter Combat skills. On the occasion of the training, NMIOTC Commandant had an office call from the C.O. of ESPS Victoria, Commander Jorge Fernadez De Navarrete Bedoya, to discuss future opportunities for VBSS training of Spanish ships participating in Operation ATALANTA.  

From September 29th to October 03rd, 2025, the NMIOTC’s NATO-Approved Course 25000 “Drafting, Production & Maintenance of NATO Standards”, was conducted at the Centre’s premises, with support from Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), NATO Standardization Office (NSO), NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and DEFSTAND. The aim of the course is to provide comprehensive knowledge to facilitate understanding of the procedures for development, production and maintenance of NATO standardization documents, including doctrines. The training focused on the fundamental principles of drafting operational and materiel standards, and covered multiple practical examples with thorough contextual explanation. From 15th to 26th of September 2025, the Resident Course 8000 “C-IED Considerations in Maritime Force Protection” was conducted at the NMIOTC premises. The aim of the course was to educate and train students in NATO practices and procedures regarding operational and tactical dimensions of mitigating Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Threat in Maritime Force Protection. In total, sixteen (16) participants from ten (10) countries (Algeria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Egypt, Italy, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia and Ukraine) attended the Course. From 15th to 26th of September 2025, the Resident Course 5000 “Maritime Operational Terminology Course” (MOTC) was conducted at NMIOTC premises with the support of NATO Allied Command Transformation, the United States Navy Reserves (USNR) and the Royal Netherlands Navy Reserves (KMR). The aim of the course was to instruct NATO and partners military personnel in Maritime Operations’ Terminology and explain operational procedures in order to prepare them to participate in NATO-led Maritime Operations and Exercises. Sixteen (16) trainees from four (4) countries (Azerbaijan, Colombia, Georgia and Ukraine) attended the course, working closely and sharing their experience.
