VTC Training in Support of Hellenic Navy’s Contribution to CTF-154
On Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, NMIOTC delivered a tailored virtual training package in counter-piracy operations to members of Combined Task Force (CTF) 154. CTF154 is one of five task forces operated by Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) and aims at training its partner navies and improving operational capabilities to enhance maritime security in the Middle East.
The aforementioned training was offered as part of Hellenic Navy’s contribution to CTF154 and was attended by 19 officers from Bahrein Brazil, Canada, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Singapore Sri Lanka & the USA, all of them present at the CTF’s HQ in Manama, Bahrain, plus two additional VTC connections, one from the Kenya Naval Base in Mombasa with multiple attendees, and one from the Office of the Commissioner of the Mauritius Police Force.
Our Greek Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) delivered tailored training focused on piracy characteristics & modes of operation, as well as the legal aspects of counter-piracy operations, with non-classified modules extracted from the NMIOTC annually offered resident Course 7000 “MIO in Support of Counter Piracy & Armed Robbery at Sea Operations”.
