Pilot Course 34000 “Irregular Migration in Maritime Interdiction Operations”
From 22 to 26 June 2026, NMIOTC conducted the Pilot Course 34000 “Irregular Migration in Maritime Interdiction Operations”, hosting 24 trainees, representing 5 NATO countries (Greece, Italy, Germany, Denmark and Romania).
This pilot course is designed to equip both military and civilian personnel with the essential legal, operational and tactical framework required to safely manage Irregular Migration during maritime operations. The curriculum covers International Maritime Law, Fundamental Rights and the dynamics of Smuggling & Trafficking, alongside extensive hands-on practical training in boarding operations, evidence collection and the recovery of persons at sea.
The course was delivered by the Centre’s instructors, complemented by Subject Matter Experts from FRONTEX and the Hellenic Coast Guard.
