DCB MRT Maritime Security Initiative (MSI) Workshop (Nouakchott)

From 29 June to 3 July 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) participated with 2 Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the Maritime Security Workshop held in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

The event, conducted within the framework of the NATO Defence Capacity Building (DCB) Initiative for Mauritania, aimed to assess the progress achieved to date, review the results of ongoing support, and plan future activities in the field of maritime security for the coming years.

NMIOTC continues to play a key role in strengthening the operational capabilities of the Mauritanian maritime forces, with particular emphasis on Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO). Through tailored training, advisory support, and operational guidance, NMIOTC contributes to enhancing Mauritania’s ability to address maritime security challenges in its area of responsibility.
