Course 12000 “C-IED in Maritime Interdiction Operations”

From 10th to 14th of March 2025, the Resident Course 12000 “C-IED in Maritime Interdiction Operations” was conducted at the NMIOTC premises. This NATO Approved Course fills an operational gap in capability and contributes to operations conducted by Boarding Teams when searching and exploiting evidence, which are fundamental to the C-IED process.

The aim is to train Boarding Team personnel in NATO TTPs (Tactics, Technics and Procedures) to undertake expedient weapons intelligence tasks on board vessels and other maritime infrastructure in support of C-IED operations.

In total, twelve (12) trainees from six (6) countries (Finland, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Qatar and Ukraine) attended the course. Training was delivered with the participation of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from FBI, the Hungarian Non Commissioned Officer Academy and Hellenic Police in cooperation with NMIOTC Sea Instructors.
