INTERNSHIPS
NMIOTC is proud to introduce its internship program and provide current and recent university graduates the opportunity to intern with the NMIOTC international community at Souda Bay, Chania, Greece.
Through its internship program, NMIOTC is aiming at introducing young candidates from different backgrounds into all areas of the organization. The NMIOTC Internship Program (NIP) shall be beneficial to both the interns and NMIOTC: the interns will gain an understanding of an international organization and further substantiate their CV, while the Divisions/Branches of NMIOTC shall enhance relations with the academia, and profit from the Innovative youngster’s thinking and additional workforce over a set period of time.
We are particurarly interested in those with the following skill sets:
- Information Technology
- International Law
- International Relations
- Media/Journalism
- Language Services
OBJECTIVES
The NIP has two main objectives:
- To provide interns with an opportunity to learn from the NMIOTC community and gain experience while working in an International Military Organization and with NATO in general.
- To provide NMIOTC with access to the latest theoretical and technical knowledge and expertise that the interns can apply through practical work assignments, as well as with additional staff resources.
CANDIDATES – ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The NMIOTC Internship program focuses on highly motivated candidates from a wide variety of disciplines including information technology international relations, international law, language services, media communications and other relevant areas.
To qualify for an internship, the applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- All applicants must be citizens of a NATO member Nation possessing a valid respective Passport.
- All applicants must be proficient in the use of the English language.
- Applicants must have at least 3 years of successful university studies or equivalent.
- The program is open to current students or recent graduates (degree obtained within the last 18 months).
Only applications fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be taken into consideration. Interns are required to obtain a security clearance from the Center and to possess valid health insurance coverage throughout their internship.
PROCEDURES
- Internship applications should be submitted using the enclosed application form.
- The candidates’ BIO / CV should be attached to the application form plus their academic and language certificates.
- In addition, all interns should submit a “motivation letter” stating their initiatives, goals and expectations for an internship at NMIOTC.
- The interns’ selection will be depended on the availability and the respective needs of NMIOTC, which in any case reserves the right of the final selection of the candidates.
- All candidates shall be informed on the selection outcome whether or not they have been selected.
- Once a candidate has been selected, the start date of the internship period will be determined taking into account divisional needs, the availability of the selected candidate and the security requirements
- Applicants are expected to report at office on a daily base, 5 days a week for the whole period of the internship, unless required otherwise by the Centre.
