NMIOTC is the only NATO Education and Training Facility (NETF) in the Maritime Domain

Although the Centre operates outside the NATO Command Structure (NCS), it is affiliated with Allied Command Transformation (ACT) similar to the other NETFS.

NMIOTC in NATO Structure

NMIOTC is commanded by a Hellenic Navy Commodore (for the current Commandant’s CV, while Deputy COM duties have been assumed by a Turkish Navy Captain. The Chief of Staff is a Hellenic Navy Captain.

Apart from the Command Group, coordinated by the Director of Staff Operations, three (3) major directorates – Education and Training (E&T), Training Support (TS) and Support (S) comprise the organizational structure of the Centre. The Director of Training Support (DIR TS) is appointed by Italian Navy.
