VISION

Our vision is to further develop the concept of NMIOTC as a hub for the maritime dimension of projecting stability. To this end, we are undertaking a series of mid and long-term initiatives, such as establishing new individual and collective training products that meet the emerging challenges in a proactive manner, promote innovation and excellence contributing to transformational efforts, while building an agile network of maritime understanding and cooperation.

TRAINING AREAS

NMIOTC is associated to ACT (Allied Command Transformation) in a similar way as the other NATO education facilities. The center provides theoretical and practical training to NATO personnel and Non NATO partners, within Maritime Interdiction Operation (MIO) context. Specifically it:

  1. Improves allied naval units’ expertise in Maritime Interdiction Operations through specific theoretical and practical training program
  2. Promotes skills, interoperability and co-operation among naval units through sea training and simulation

NMIOTC generally provides training in the following areas:

  9. MIO in support of International Efforts to Counter Human Trafficking Activities at Sea
  10. Autonomous Vessel Protection Detachment (VPD) Training
  11. C-IED Considerations in MIO
  12. MIO in Support of Migration Related Operations-Command Team and Practical Issues
  13. Maritime-Improvised Explosive Devise Disposal (M-IEDD)
  14. Maritime Aspects of Joint Operations
  15. Train the Trainers Technical Instructor Course
  16. Maritime Biometrics Collection and Tactical Forensic Site Exploitation
